Livpure Glo 7-Litre RO + UV + Mineralizer Water Purifier
With the advent of many water-borne diseases, it is now important to look for UV filtration systems. The Livpure Glo 7-Litre RO + UV + Mineralizer Water Purifier is the best we have reviewed this year if you're looking for a capable UV-only system that can purify your drinking water of germs and bacteria.
Features and build quality
The Livpure Glo 7-Litre RO + UV + Mineralizer Water Purifier has a stylish build, including a simple LED and a handle tap to release the water.
There's not much else we can see from the outside, unlike other water purifiers that like to show off their internal mechanism.
The plastic quality has a great finish and the exterior of the device feels smooth and polished. The tap handle is also of great quality and durability.
However, some users may find an issue with the handle-tap as it can be unhygienic and depending on how you fill the water, this handle could come into contact with the flowing water.
We especially liked the simple LED display that indicates whether the power is on, the purification is happening, or if the tank is full.
The 7 litres of storage is plenty, and the Livpure Glo 7-Litre RO + UV + Mineralizer Water Purifier includes automatic power cut-off when this tank nears its full capacity.
There was no TDS controller in the device, but there is a slot available for installing it separately. This is a poor move by the manufacturer, as we think every water purifier must include a TDS controller in this day and age.
Purification and TDS levels
Livpure Glo 7-Litre RO + UV + Mineralizer Water Purifier includes a 6-stage purification process, very similar to this other device we reviewed recently. Only this time, there is a UV filter in place of a standard MF membrane.
The UV filter was effective at cleaning the impure water we tested with the device.
You can watch how UV filtration works below or read more about it here:
As for TDS levels, we performed a few tests to check the effect of the missing TDS controller in the device. Using a high TDS sample (around 400 ppm), the levels reduced to somewhere between 60-70 ppm of hardness, which is great! The problems began when we used a cleaner sample of water.
Our 200 ppm sample came out purified with less than 30 ppm, which makes the water almost useless to drink. Again, we believe the removal of an included TDS controller was a cheap tactic to get users to buy the essential accessory directly from the vendor.
Another issue is the time for purification. While the Livpure Glo 7-Litre RO + UV + Mineralizer Water Purifier does a good job at purifying most samples we tested, each time we had to wait for almost an hour for the entire filtration process to complete.
We'd advise everyone to activate the device first thing in the morning, or before you go to bed every day.
There's also a lot of water wasted each time you complete a filtration cycle. This was depressing to watch, but at least the water came out purified and clean.
Mineralizer... or not
The Livpure Glo 7-Litre RO + UV + Mineralizer Water Purifier can add essential minerals to the purified water on each filtration cycle.
We could not, however, discern any difference in the water we drank. Needless to say, this is most likely a gimmick. Mineralized water has a unique flavor, which the purified water we tasted lacked.
Our Verdict: Livpure Glo 7-Litre RO + UV + Mineralizer Water Purifier - Recommended
If getting clean drinking water free of germs and other disease causing substances is your main concern, the Livpure Glo 7-Litre RO + UV + Mineralizer Water Purifier does this perfectly.
With ample storage and a thorough filtration cycle, the water we tested felt refreshing and clean to drink. We recommend this device as the best UV water purifier you will find in India this year.
